Between The Lines

Between The Lines
What happened to, this man from many moons ago
Camera captured this moment but not his soul
I look into this old picture, dog eared and blurred
To try to bring you back to life, I read between the lines
Read between the lines
What became of you? What part did you play?
If you were here today, I wonder what you’d say.
This photograph, is a window into the past
But it’s like the time that’s passed, has stained the glass
And through this grainy haze I see you man sat on the train
So many questions, but all I can do is read between the lines
Read between the lines
What did you enjoy? What made you annoyed?
Were you a father or a lover? What did you hold dear?
Did you stand up and inspire? Or were you quiet and at night did you conspire?
Were you curious at all?
Did you look at old pictures and think the very same thoughts?
There’s no picture of forever

Black Wasp
Your shape is like a cross between, a bullet and a tear
Blue wings like whispers in my ear, telling me not to fear
Black wasp visit me tonight, gives me a message from the other side
Tells me there both alright, get lost and see them in its big black eyes
I say, hey to my fallen friends
Hey, hey just once again
You’re like a shadow come to life, attracted to the light
You play the silence til’ it cries, waterfalls of ice

Paper Aeroplanes
I said I’m up too late again, thinkin’ more as I try to forget
But I know this is the way it has to be
And it’s so hard cause your my best friend, but sometimes you have to walk away
Strip bare of it all
Cards on the table, but this time it is no game
Entwined for so long it feels strange as we start to unwind
Our dreams are paper aeroplanes, do all we can just to hold on
But if only we’d let go, and throw
More magnificent in flight, throw
To ever truly know you just have to let go
I’m not religious but I’ll prey, a piece of art that you refuse to display
Disgrace
Feeding off each other’s love, like a vampire feeds of blood
The same colour as our setting sun

27
Another year my dear but you’re here now following your;
Dreams, you never gave up despite everything
Raise a glass and cheers you Maria
To your 27th Year
Were on the road, no fixed abode
Unenclosed, and everywhere to go
And breathe a sigh of relief, 27
It’s where you wanted to be, 27
27, you wear your heart on your sleeve
I still can’t believe it’s happening
I pinch myself and feel it so were gonna celebrate!

Xmas On The run

Xmas On The Run
Christmas on the run, burned by a heart shaped sun
It’s hard to explain the feeling but I will try to
I’m trapped in paradise, but it still has its price
It’s hard to know your whole family is together but I
Just can’t be there, can’t be there
Christmas time it’s time to put aside, your differences dignified, side by side
Have a drink no prejudice, raise a glass not a fist
Appreciate what you’ve got and celebrate who you miss
And you know who you are, know who you are
No matter how near or far
Instead of Christmas trees, its palm trees and beach
But you can help but crave familiarity
The best of both worlds, the Holy Ghost concludes
Is good measure of high spirits bless ya all, amen
See you again, see you again
